Ballast is a fictitious brand of 8-string electric guitar using a MIDI system. The dash and three dots (a «B» in Morse code) represent the selector and the three potentiometers above the neck. Inspired by instruments such as the hurdy-gurdy and mandolin, the aim was to create a puzzling, futuristic design with a 3D concept as close as possible to a feasible prototype.
